Mr. John Altemuller is Elkin City Schools Director of Maintenance and Operations. Mr. Altemuller has been with Elkin City Schools since 2010 after leaving the corporate world. He oversees all facility operations and maintenance needs and has a team of three maintenance assistants and custodians at each building.

Mr. Altemueller is an Elkin High School Alumni and is dedicated to all things Elkin. He is happily married to the former Chief Academic Officer of Elkin City Schools, Dr. Cynthia Altemueller has three sons; Will, Matthew, and Luke all graduates and/or students of Elkin.

Mr. Altemueller’s main focus is to provide a clean, safe and secure environment for all Elkin City Schools staff, students and community.
