Good evening this is Interim Superintendent, Tracee McManus, calling to inform you of an incident that occurred today on the Elkin Elementary campus.

Today, it was reported that a gun was brought to school.  I want to begin with the fact that no one was harmed in any way. 

We are working closely with the Elkin Police Department to further investigate the situation.  Since it is an on-going investigation, information will be released in a timely manner as facts are gathered.
